Formatting Research

Because I intend my magazine to me a bit classier and more formal than the majority on the market I decided to model it off of Q.
The majority of my cover will feature a portrait of the artist whose interview is the main topic of the issue. My title will be displayed across the top of the cover so it can still be easily visible even when it is positioned behind another magazine. The headings will be running along the sides of the cover, the especially important features will be displayed in a different shape border or colour, things like ‘Top 100’ or ‘ultimate guide’s’ would be examples of this. Pull quotes will also be used along with these. I may or may not use free gifts in order to attract an audience. While this is quite effective at getting people to buy your magazine, realistically it is unlikely that mass producing physical items would be economically possible considering this will be happening before we sell the first copy of the magazine.
The contents page would have another picture of the main artist/band featured on the cover as well as 3 or 4 other pictures related to notable artists featured in the magazine, including the page numbers that they are interviewed on. I will also have a column or 2 that will detail the remainder of the issue showing page numbers and short descriptions of the articles. The issue number of the magazine will be displayed in the top right of the contents page under the title of my magazine which will be again displayed. The editors notes will be located here which will include an overview of what is in the magazine as well as any announcements that the editor would want the audience to know about.
